Stephen A. Smith says an NBA team has “no chance” this season
The 2024–25 season offers many NBA teams a chance to make amends and return to the playoffs.
However, that will not be the case with the Charlotte Hornets, at least according to Stephen A. Smith.
In a video shared by diehard Charlotte fan “The Super Hornet on X,” Smith says the Hornets have “no chance” next season.
He believes the future is still bright for the team, especially with LaMelo Ball on board, but that they won’t go far anytime soon.
Spoke to a legend today, Shoutout @stephenasmith I’m losing my mind because of this. But the hornets will prove you wrong anyway pic.twitter.com/vYeVWT3C8O

The Hornets finished last season as the 13th team in the Eastern Conference with a poor record of 21-61.
They didn’t even come close to making the playoffs and had no chance all season.
Nevertheless, many fans believe that great things are yet to come for Buzz City.
The team is under new management, has a new coach and is gaining more talent.
However, it may still be some time before they are truly successful, especially as their conference continues to improve.
One of the Hornets’ biggest problems is that they still rely heavily on the ball.
In many ways, that makes sense, as he is a wonderfully talented young player and averaged 23.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 8 assists per game last season.
But he was injured again and only made 22 appearances throughout the season.
There is concern that the Hornets will be held back until Ball is fully healthy or until the team decides to part ways with him.
For a number of valid reasons, Smith doesn’t believe 2024-25 will be Charlotte’s year, but good things could still be on the horizon.
