Wow! Can you believe that we are already at the penultimate episode of Sunny on Apple TV+? It’s definitely been an interesting journey and we still have many questions about Masa, his disappearance, Sunny and more. The good news, however, is that Suzie was able to find her son in episode 8! Will she be able to find Masa? Maybe that will be answered in this week’s episode.

Sunny Episode 9, titled “Who’s in the Box?”, will premiere on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. You can stream the episode starting at 12 p.m. ET. So, although the official release date is Wednesday, some of you may be able to tune in as early as tonight depending on your time zone. We’ve included the episode release times below:

The streamer has a preference for very short loglines. After all, the suspense should be maintained until we can see the episode! Here is the official synopsis from Apple TV+:

“Sunny looks inside herself.”

Interestingly, although the title and synopsis suggest that the episode may focus on Sunny – who is clearly waking up after last week’s cliffhanger – the focus of the released preview clip and promotional images is actually on Masa. In the video below, we see him filming what looks like some sort of promotional video. I’m assuming it’s a flashback where he and his company are either trying to convince people to fund the robots or that this is a way to sell them. Check it out below:

If this really is a commercial for his company and Masa is clearly the face of that company, it’s crazy to think that Suzie had no idea what her husband really did for a living. And why was he hiding all this from her in the first place? Well, with each episode we learn more about Masa’s backstory and maybe all of those questions will be answered. That is, if he’s still alive. And I believe he is. What do you think?
