Jodie Sweetin recreates Full House Dance 33 years later
Jodie Sweetin can still wear her famous Full house Dance moves!
The 42-year-old actress recreated the choreography of a dance she first performed as Stephanie Tanner in 1991 and shared the results via Instagram on Wednesday, August 14.
Sweetin was joined by Mitchell Gerrard Johnson as they performed a dance routine in the hilarious clip for Boyz II Men’s 1991 song “Motownphilly.”
“How rude of us not to have done this sooner!” reads the caption.
The star even mimicked Stephanie’s attire in the sitcom episode “Gotta Dance,” wearing an updated version of the character’s black ruffled skirt, matching crop top and jacket.
While Full house was undoubtedly full of beautiful memories for the star, Sweetin previously told Today show that this special scene was one of their most beautiful experiences on set.
“All the girls in the background were girls that I actually danced with at my dance studio. And my dance teacher came and choreographed the number for that week and everything. So those were all my friends, because I grew up dancing,” Sweetin told the show in 2018.
“It was really fun because they could come for a week and I could see all my little dance friends,” she continued. “And it was a number that they had already done, that they danced in competition, and I just stepped in for a week and had to learn it.”
Sweetin played middle child Stephanie in the original series from 1987 to 1995 and returned for the Netflix reboot. Fuller house, which was streamed from 2016 to 2020.
Although Sweetin isn’t opposed to being part of another reboot or spinoff, the actress has reservations about reprising her role following Bob Saget’s death.
She told Hollywood Life in December 2023 that both she and her co-stars feared the series would return without Saget’s character, Danny Tanner.
“I would always leave this door open (to allow another Full house spinoff), but I think we’re all worried without Bob,” she told the outlet. “Would it ever be the same without Danny Tanner?”
Sweetin’s former co-star Dave Coulier also previously commented on the idea of a reboot without Saget and said that a tribute to the late actor could work.
“I would like Full housewhere maybe it’s like all of us as adults, and we’re a little bit like the cast of ‘Friends,’ where we sit around and we talk, and we share moments, and we keep Bob’s legacy alive,” the 64-year-old actor said while speaking at a 90s Con panel in March 2023.
