Meet the real husbands and wives of the cast of Gossip Girl

gossip Girl has always known how to enchant us with its love stories, and many of the actors have experienced epic romances off-screen as well.

The hit CW series, which aired from 2007 to 2012, followed the dramatic events of New York’s Upper East Side elite, from complicated love triangles to on-off relationships.

Since the series ended, many of the stars have married and started families of their own. Blake Lively, for example, married actor Ryan Reynolds after they met on the set of Green Lanternwhile Leighton Meester found love with teen drama actor Adam Brody.

Recently a few gossip Girl Former couples have gotten married. Jessica Szohr married former NHL player Brad Richardson in a wedding attended by a handful of CW actors, while Ed Westwick recently found the “B to his Chuck” in his wife Amy Jackson.

Blake Lively is best known for her role as Golden Girl Serena van der Woodsen. gossip GirlAlthough her character marries Dan Humphrey (played by actor Penn Badgley, whom Lively dated in real life) in the series finale, Lively found love off-screen with actor Ryan Reynolds.

After meeting on the set of Green Lanternthe two reunited years later when they happened to go on a double date with other people. “It was funny because about a year later Green Lantern had come and gone and all that stuff, we were both single. We had a double date,” Reynolds said Weekly entertainment. “That was (from her perspective) the most awkward date, probably because we came across as fireworks.”

The couple later married on September 9, 2012, during a private wedding in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. They have since had four children together, daughters James, Inez and Betty, and a son named Olin.

Leighton Meester famously played “Queen B” Blair Waldorf. In the series, Blair married her epic on-off love interest Chuck Bass, but in real life, Meester found love with another teen drama star, The OK Actor Adam Brody.

The couple met for the first time on the set of The oranges and made their romance public in early February 2013. After getting engaged in November of the same year, they married in February 2014, the day after Valentine’s Day.

Since then, they have become parents of two children, a daughter named Arlo, born in 2015, and a son, whose name has not been disclosed, born in 2020.

Ed Westwick played the notorious bad boy Chuck Bass, who finally settles down with his long-time love Blair Waldorf at the end of the series.

Years later gossip Girl ended, Westwick found love with model Amy Jackson. After crossing paths at an Aston Martin race in fall 2021, the two began dating and Westwick proposed to her during a ski trip in January 2024.

Later that year, in August 2024, the couple married – first in a civil ceremony in London and then again during a lavish wedding in Italy, which was also attended by his co-star Kelly Rutherford. In the series, Penn Badgley notably played Dan Humphrey, aka Lonely Boy, aka the real identity of Gossip Girl. Although he marries Serena in the series finale, in real life he married singer Domino Kirke.

The couple first started dating in July 2014 and married in two weddings in 2017. After getting married in a civil ceremony at the courthouse in Brooklyn, New York on February 27, 2017, they held a wedding reception in upstate New York on June 24, 2017.

Through his marriage to Kirke, Badgley became stepfather to her son Cassius, whom she has with her ex Morgan O’Kane. In August 2020, the couple welcomed a boy together, Kirke’s second child and Badgley’s first.

Jessica Szohr played Vanessa, the best friend and later girlfriend of Dan Humphrey, in the series. Although Vanessa and Dan do not have a happy ending in the series, Szohr found happiness off-screen with former NHL player Brad Richardson.

After making their fame official on Instagram in 2019, the couple welcomed a baby girl named Bowie Ella Richardson on January 11, 2021. In May 2022, the two announced their engagement with a black-and-white photo on Instagram before officially tying the knot in August 2024 at the luxury Pine Canyon Golf Club in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Several CW stars attended the event, including the Vampire Diaries Actress Nina Dobrev, who served as Szohr’s maid of honour, and Szohr’s gossip Girl Co-star Chace Crawford.

Matthew Settle played the lovable rocker Rufus Humphrey, the father of Dan and Jenny (Taylor Momsen). Like his character, Settle is also a father of two children.

The actor had his first child, daughter Aven Angelica Settle, with his then wife Naama Nativ in March 2009. The couple finally separated in February 2010.

In August 2015, Settle welcomed baby number 2 when his girlfriend Maria Alfonsin (pictured) gave birth to a daughter named Nalu.

Michelle Trachtenberg played everyone’s favorite villain, Georgina Sparks, in the series. In the series finale, Georgina is the mother of son Milo (who in the gossip Girl Revival) and is associated with Chuck’s uncle, Jack Bass.

Off-screen, Trachtenberg is dating talent agent Jay Cohen. The couple were first linked in October 2020 and have since shared some insight into their relationship. In March 2024, she wished him a happy birthday on Instagram, writing, “Happy birthday to the man who puts up with me” alongside a heart and kiss emoji.

Chace Crawford

Chace Crawford played the aloof but charming Nate Archibald in the series. Although Nate is not dating anyone at the end of the series, he runs for mayor of New York City in the series finale.

Over the years, Crawford has been linked with several leading ladies, notably his Blood and oil Co-star Rebecca Rittenhouse, with whom he was together from 2015 to 2019. After marrying Carlos Tarajano, whom she divorced in 2002, she married her second husband, German businessman Daniel Giersch, in August 2006. The couple had their first child, son Hermés Gustaf Daniel Giersch, in October 2006, and a daughter named Helena was born in June 2009.

After Rutherford and Giersch separated in 2009, a bitter custody battle lasting six years ensued, resulting in Giersch being granted sole custody of the two children in 2015, with the condition that the two had to live permanently in Monaco, where he also lives.

“Yes, it’s been a challenging time. It’s been a heartbreaking time,” Rutherford told PEOPLE as she reflected on the nearly decade since the final decision was made in February 2024. “But I focus on the good most of the time, I really do. I’m very grateful for where we are. I have a great relationship with my kids.”

Taylor Momsen

Taylor Momsen made a name for herself with the role of the rebellious Jenny Humphrey in gossip GirlAlthough her character left the show in Season 4 so Momsen could pursue her music career on The Pretty Reckless in real life, she briefly reprised her role in the series finale.

When it comes to her off-screen relationships, Momsen has remained fairly private. During an appearance on Badgley’s podcast Podcrushedshe joked that one of her first heartbreaks was with Supernatural Star Jared Padalecki, whom she described as her “first childhood love.”

Recalling their red carpet meeting, she noted that she was “starstruck” at the time. “He was nice, but he didn’t love me back, so that was my first love, my first heartbreak all in one fell swoop,” she joked. “From that moment on, I decided I was only going to wear high heels.”
