WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup: Media accreditation possible until September 26 – World Baseball Softball Confederation


Media registration for the WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup is open. The game will take place from September 27 to 29 at the National Baseball and Softball Complex in Farnham Park in Buckinghamshire, England. just outside London. The registration deadline is Monday, September 23.

All media representatives, both local/national and international (including those who have previously registered for WBSC events) wishing to cover the WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup must apply for accreditation through the official WBSC online media accreditation platform at https://my.wbsc.org.

First, click on MEDIA ACCREDITATIONS to start the accreditation process. Then fill out the online application form and attach a portrait photo.

Once the request has been submitted, media representatives will receive an automatic email confirmation that their application has been received.

Those media who wish to broadcast the event remotely should Write to the WBSC Media Department at [email protected] to receive tournament press releases.

Television crews or other media wishing to use cameras and film the event should also contact the WBSC Media Department when submitting their application to confirm access/rights to film.

Another automated message indicates a “status change” in the accreditation application.

Media representatives can check the status of their request AFTER the September 23 registration deadline by going to my.wbsc.org and clicking on “SEARCH FOR YOUR ACCREDITATION” in the top right corner of the page. You will then need to enter your first and last name and the email address you used to register.

The event

The event will feature nine teams divided into two groups. Group A includes hosts Great Britain, the USA, Pakistan and Tanzania, while Group B includes Cuba, China, Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands.

On the first two days of the competition, participants complete the opening round.

In the semi-finals, the second-placed team in Group B will face the best-placed team in Group A, while in the other semi-final, the second-placed team in Group A will face the best-placed team in Group B.

After the semifinals, the tournament will conclude with the bronze medal match, the gold medal match and a closing ceremony.

The Blind Baseball International Cup is organised by the British Baseball Federation and supported by BaseballSoftballUK.

The inaugural edition of the WBSC Blind Baseball International Cup took place in August 2022 in Beek, the Netherlands, where Italy emerged victorious among six competing teams.
