ShackStream: The Stevetendo Show! Episode 492

The annual playthrough of “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past” continues on the Stevetendo Show!

Tonight on the Stevetendo Show, we return to our playthrough of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I always try to play through my favorite games at least once a year, and this year is no different. During the last episode of Link to the Past, we headed out to the Dark World and explored the area. There, we defeated the first three dungeons of the Dark World and rescued the maidens trapped within.

Tonight we’ll fight through the rest of the Dark World and clear the remaining dungeons. If time allows, we’ll head to Ganon’s Tower on Death Mountain and take on the Evil King. I know The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past like the back of my hand and this playthrough feels faster than ever. It goes live at 6pm PT/9pm ET. You can hear more of our playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on the Stevetendo Show.

Shackers who want to join in on the fun can visit the Shacknews Twitch channel where they can tune in to the Stevetendo Show every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

If you can’t make it to the show tonight, you can watch on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 5pm PT/8pm ET. There will be more of our Dragon Quest XI playthrough on the show, as well as a brand new playthrough starting on Wednesday. We competed in a martial arts tournament in Dragon Quest XI and, surprise, we won! As for the new playthrough, Jet Force Gemini finally fucked me up, so we’re starting something new. The final nail in the coffin was defeating the final boss and finding out that I had to play through the game again and find basically everything, and that didn’t happen.

In case you missed the news, there will be not one but two Nintendo Directs tomorrow. Before you lose your mind, the presentations are a Partner Showcase and an Indie World Showcase, where independent developers present their projects. Usually these presentations are very worthwhile for Nintendo fans like me, but you should go into it with an open mind. Tune in to the Stevetendo Show tonight to hear my thoughts on what I’d like to see, and you can hear a Nintendo Direct recap on Tuesday night’s show.

Keep thinking of new games you’d like to see featured on the Stevetendo Show. If it’s on the Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Online service, there’s a great chance it will be played on the program. You never know when Nintendo will add something to the Nintendo Switch Online service, so stay tuned.
