ALDO- It feels like every year the homecoming moms get bigger and bigger. But this year they’re getting smaller.

At least according to Kristian Recio from Aledo.

“The minis are just so cute,” said Recio.

She started making smaller mums for her children who are not yet old enough to have big mums for school.

One day she stuck a mini-mum on her Stanley Cup and realized what a great idea it really was.

“Everyone has a Stanley! They’re a cult item… all the girls carry them around at school now, everyone in the office has one,” added Recio.

Stanley Cup accessories have become increasingly popular thanks to social media apps like TikTok.

But Recio says nothing is more Texan than a homecoming mom decorating the team.

The Mini Mums can be decorated with school colours, tags, bows or any other design that suits your style.

And the best part? They’re quick to make – they only take about 10 minutes – and much cheaper than traditional homecoming mums.

Recio’s idea quickly found favor.

After sharing her creations online, she received interest from across Texas, including San Antonio, Keller, Haltom, Burleson and Castleberry.

Now she’s making more and more mini-mums and hopes to spread school spirit and joy while showing that bigger isn’t always better.

“The big ones are beautiful, of course, but there is something for everyone,” said Recio.
