Jordan Chiles had every reason to celebrate today after making it to the podium in the final women’s gymnastics competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The athlete ultimately won a bronze medal (her first individual Olympic medal!) in the women’s floor exercise final after her score was adjusted upwards by a points query.

In case you missed it, Jordan originally received a score of 13.666 for her routine, which placed her behind Romania’s Ana Barbosu in the competition. However, after her coaches made a request, her score was changed to 13.766, meaning she ultimately secured third place. And yes, in case you were wondering, the mood was very good:

We don’t cry, you cry!!!

FYI: One skill in Jordan’s routine is called a gogean, and it involves a split jump with a 1.5 twist. According to NBC, the athlete was not initially credited for this by the judges. According to the outlet, after further investigation, she ultimately received full credit for the move, which made a really big difference and earned her the bronze medal. NBC also reported that Jordan said she wasn’t even aware that her coaches had filed an appeal on her behalf (and paid the fee to file the investigation).

Oh, and PS As soon as the score change was officially Officially, Jordan was seen celebrating with her teammate Simone Biles in a really sweet moment.

And speaking of the not-at-all-laid-back, highly decorated US Olympic gymnast, Simone actually took silver in the floor exercise final (Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade came in first) and finished her time in Paris with a total of four medals – three of them gold, TYVM – after a round of twisting gymnastics at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The gymnast recently spoke about her physical and mental state and revealed Cosmopolitan’s Olympic correspondent Kristy Alpert: “To see how I’ve developed since Tokyo and since Rio as a 19-year-old is incredible. I’m really proud of the work she’s done because I never thought I’d ever be competing on another world stage. I’m proud of Simone for never giving up.”

The gymnasts of the US team 🤝🏻 our biggest obsession.
