Lynchburg Humane Society’s new clinic offers low-cost veterinary services

Caring for a pet can be expensive and many people simply cannot afford it.

That’s why the Lynchburg Humane Society hopes to provide more affordable healthcare to the region and has launched its new campaign called “Healthy Pets, Happy Families.”

They need $7,500,000 to build a new 10,000 square foot regional veterinary clinic.

It will be added to their current building on Old Graves Mill Road.

With the rising cost of living, our community needs these low-cost services more than ever, according to LHS.

“They don’t have to surrender them to a shelter just because they can’t afford medical care for their pets. Or worse, sometimes people are forced to euthanize their animals because they can’t afford medical care,” said Jill Mollohan, executive director of the Lynchburg Humane Society.

They offer services such as check-ups, ultrasound examinations, vaccinations and operations.

The new extension will also be the new location of their low-cost sterilization clinic.

They already have $2,300,000 of the $7,500,000 they need.

The project is scheduled to be completed in early 2026.
