The best Gilmore Girls episodes in autumn

Gilmore Girls in 2024

Warner Bros. Television/The CW

Season 1, Episode 1, “Pilot”

The very first episode of “Gilmore Girls” has ALL the autumn vibes for me. Apart from Rory’s timeless white cable knit sweater and the iconic “What do you need, hot tea? Coffee?” “Lip gloss.” Conversation, meeting the residents of Stars Hollow in the “Gilmore Girls” Pilot will make saying goodbye to summer much easier.

Season 1, Episode 6, “Rory’s Birthday Parties”

Rory is turning 16, but instead of one “Sweet Sixteen,” she’s getting two: a relaxed party at home with all her friends (and lots of feather boas), and a more formal party at Emily’s house. Considering Rory’s birthday on the show is October 8, this is definitely a fall episode. But Rory’s party in Stars Hollow is so fun, yet so cozy, that even if it were held in the middle of summer, I would get a cozy feeling!

Season 1, Episode 7, “Kiss And Tell”

Rory and Dean finally kiss for the first time (in Dooses – romantic!). And like in every small town, almost all of Stars Hollow finds out about it. This episode not only has my favorite “Gilmore Girls” Quotes (“He kissed you and you said ‘thank you’? Well, that was very polite”), but there are also plenty of walks around the town square – with fall leaves, pumpkins and all.

Lorelai Gilmore Lauren Graham

Warner Bros. Television

Season 2, Episode 4, “Road Trip to Harvard”

Road trips may be a popular summer activity, but this “Gilmore Girls” The episode is entirely dedicated to autumn. As the title suggests, Lorelai and Rory go on a road trip to Harvard and stay in an unforgettable bed and breakfast during their trip.

Season 2, Episode 5, “Nick & Nora/Sid & Nancy”

Stars Hollow welcomes fall and all its traditions in this Season 2 episode. Long-sleeved shirts and flannels abound, but this is also the episode that introduces us (and Rory) Jess by Milo Ventimiglia. “Thanks “Gilmore Girls”,” we all say in unison.

Season 2, Episode 7, “Like mother, like daughter”

In this “Gilmore Girls” In the fall episode, Principal Charleston gets Lorelai and Rory more involved at Chilton. For Rory, that means being accepted into a clique, while Lorelai ends up at a fundraising fashion show – matching outfits with Emily.

Dean Gilmore Girls

Warner Bros. Television

Season 3, Episode 7, “They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They?”

This episode is a reason “Gilmore Girls” Season 3 is my personal favorite season – and it’s one of the highest-rated episodes of the entire series on IMDb! The annual Stars Hollow dance marathon is back, and Lorelai and Rory will stop at nothing to win. But when Dean and Jess both end up in the stands, things get confrontational.

Season 3, Episode 8 “Let the Games Begin”

Rory and Lorelai are back on an Ivy League campus when Richard and Emily take them on a trip to Yale. The women are excited to see the sights, but are less than thrilled when Richard reveals he’s arranged a surprise interview with the Dean of Admissions. There are pumpkins, sweaters, and of course, lots of coffee.

Season 3, Episode 9, “A Fried Korean Thanksgiving”

Nothing screams Rory and Lorelai more than four Thanksgivings, and that’s exactly what happens in this “Gilmore Girls” episode. That, and Jackson and his friends frying a turkey in his front yard, makes this one of the most iconic TV episodes of all time.

Lorelai Gilmore and Sookie St James

Warner Bros. Television

Season 4, Episode 6, “An Unforgettable Love Affair”

Emily hires Sookie and Lorelai to cater an office party while Rory looks for a good place to study on campus. Remember when Rory finds the perfect study tree and then yells at another student while sitting under it? Yes, that’s that episode. Nothing more needs to be said.

Season 4, Episode 7, “The Festival of Living Art”

When Stars Hollow is asked to host a Festival of Living Art, everyone from Kirk to Taylor to Lane comes together to bring it to life this fall “Gilmore Girls” Like all city traditions, this one has a quirky and humorous beginning, but the overall summary is truly breathtaking.

Season 4, Episode 9, “Ted Koppel’s Big Night”

It’s time for a party! Rory and Paris meet Richard and Emily at the Harvard-Yale football game and there is literally nothing more fall-like than some school sweatshirts, Bloody Mary’sand football. I get nostalgic just thinking about it!

Logan and Rory

Warner Bros. Television

Season 5, Episode 7, “You Jump, I Jump Jack”

Logan takes Rory on a camping trip with the Life and Death Brigade. But don’t get me wrong: While there are tents, there are also nice camp beds, ball gowns, and death-defying stunts. That’s how we all spent our sophomore year of college, right?

Season 5, Episode 8, “The Party is Over”

Rory’s Sweet Sixteen was not the last party she gets from Emily. In this “Gilmore Girls” In the fall episode, Emily and Richard team up to introduce Rory to more young men after learning that she is back together with Dean. This leads to Rory and Dean officially breaking up and Logan and Rory taking another step towards their future relationship.

Gilmore Girls - The Last Jedi

Netflix

Season 6, Episode 7, “Twenty-One Is the Loneliest Number”

Emily throws Rory a fancy 21st birthday party, but it’s not something Rory always dreamed of. Although I love party episodes, “Gilmore Girls” Autumn mood could fix the fact that this takes place during the fight between Lorelai and Rory.

Season 6, Episode 8, “Let Me Hear Your Balalaikas”

Jess, who has recently published her books, returns to have dinner with Rory and Logan, pestering Logan and asking Rory, “WHY did you DROPPED OUT OF YALE?” And that very conversation seems to remind Rory why she wanted to go to school in the first place, and she re-enrolls.

Season 6, Episode 10 “He lets them have their bread…get it?”

Thanksgiving is here again and this time Luke’s sister Liz is determined to prepare a wonderful Martha Stewart-level feast while Christopher surprises Lorelai and Rory with news. A cool detail about this fall “Gilmore Girls” As a result, Carole King, who sings the theme song “Where You Lead,” makes a guest appearance as Sophie, the music store owner of Stars Hollow!

Season 7, Episode 7, “French Twist”

It is “Gilmore Girls” meets Emily in Paris when Christopher and Lorelai take Chris’ daughter Gigi to Paris. Rory and her friends spend a girls’ night in Stars Hollow. I wish we could all Spend a girls’ night in Stars Hollow!

Season 7, Episode 9, “Knitting People”

The latest Stars Hollow Marathon is all about knitting needles and many Yarn. But when Christopher’s donation helps the event reach its goal, it ends up being canceled. Luke demands equal parental rights when he realizes Anna is moving to New Mexico in April. Despite all the drama this episode holds, the coziness of the knitathon warms me to my toes!
