Brooklyn Heights family searches for missing father after he was last seen delivering pizza a week ago

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) – Brooklyn Heights police are desperately searching for 37-year-old Calvin Jones. He was last seen delivering pizza in Cleveland about a week ago.

Jones is a single father of three children. His family says he would never just leave them.

“Boy, come home. We can work out the rest. Come home,” says Donna Ayers, Jones’ mother.

Ayers says everyone who knows Jones calls him “Bub.”

Bub lives with his children in Brooklyn Heights.

“He’s such a great father. His kids need him,” Ayers says.

Last Tuesday, August 20th, Bub was working at Giorgio’s Pizza on Harvard Avenue in Cleveland.

He has been delivering pizza for her for 10 years.

According to police, Bub was last seen delivering pizza to his own children.

He then left the house and has not been seen since.

“He left and no one has heard from him since. Impossible,” says Ayers.

After Jones left his house on Tuesday night, his son called him around 11:30 p.m. They had a brief phone conversation and that was the last time anyone spoke to him.

“He shares everything with his 16-year-old. He shares everything. His location, where he is, who he’s with, what he’s going to do. That’s what he does,” Ayers says.

Ayers says she began to worry when her son didn’t show up for a barbecue at her house the next day.

The family is there to celebrate Bub’s daughter’s eighteenth birthday and her big move to college.

“He wouldn’t miss these events. The kids’ first day of school, back to school. He wouldn’t miss these events,” Ayers says.

The family then went to the police to file a report.

During the investigation, the police found footage from the doorbell of a neighboring house. It shows Bub’s car stopping in front of his house on Wednesday afternoon. The driver stays there for a few seconds, but then drives off.

“Why? He has a whole driveway. It’s his house. Why would he just park in front of the house and sit there for 50 seconds when he knows we’re worried?”

Brooklyn Heights police said they have been actively searching for Bub for the past five days and have followed every lead.

“Everything counts. Every little thing. If you think you saw him, tell someone,” Ayers says.

According to police, Jones has several tattoos on his arms and legs. He also has a scar on his head and his left ear is pierced.

He was last seen in a silver 2011 Chevy Impala with license plate HGF2869.
