Today, Disney updated the extended evening hours attraction lineup and removed MuppetVision 3D as an attraction available during the Resort Hotel Guest Benefit at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Beginning Wednesday, September 25, 2024, extended evening hours from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World as the Magic Kingdom begins a busy ticket sales season with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Just last week, Disney released the list of available attractions for the upcoming Extended Evening Horus at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which originally included MuppetVision 3D.

The removal of MuppetVision 3D is notable because the attraction is currently slated to be located in one of two areas being considered for the recently announced Monsters, Inc. Land. In this scenario, the new land would take up everything in the former Muppets Courtyard, including the MuppetVision 3D show, Mama Melrose’s, Studio 1 Shop, Days of Christmas, and PizzeRizzo. The other area being considered as a candidate for Monsters, Inc. Land is the Animation Courtyard and the Star Wars Launch Bay.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Will the Monsters, Inc. lot replace the Muppets Courtyard or the Animation Courtyard?

While the removal of MuppetVision from the Extended Evening Hours schedule has nothing to do with Monsters, Inc. Land, it is an interesting development in the ongoing story.

It should also be noted that MuppetVision 3D remains on the official hours calendar for daily operations as published, which is currently late October 2024. And the calendar continues to show MuppetVision 3D operating during extended evening hours, even though it was removed from the extended evening hours page today.

Disney has not yet announced a closure of MuppetVision 3D or a location for the new Monsters, Inc. Land.
