Carabao Cup: draw, fixtures and results of the second round

The draw for the second round of the 2024–25 Carabao Cup will take place on 14 August 2024. A total of 50 teams will take part and 25 matches will be drawn, divided into North and South sections.

The Carabao Cup draw is eagerly awaited by fans as it determines the path to glory for each participating club. The early rounds will not feature any Premier League teams with European commitments as they will only enter the competition from the third round onwards.

All 92 English professional football clubs are eligible to take part and the competition begins with the first round, which includes 22 teams from the Championship and all clubs from League One and League Two.

The second round will feature the two remaining Championship clubs that were relegated from the Premier League last season after finishing 18th and 19th, as well as Premier League teams not participating in European competitions. The seven teams with European commitments will enter the tournament in the third round.

The first round of the Carabao Cup is divided into two sections: North and South, with matches to be played from 13 August.

Sky Sports And ITV have also agreed to allow all football fans in the UK to enjoy free-to-air broadcasts of certain Carabao Cup and Championship matches. This new agreement, which begins with the Carabao Cup semi-finals in January 2025, will allow ITV to co-broadcast a selection of matches that will also be shown on Sky Sports.
