To summarize the 2023-24 fantasy basketball season, let’s review and analyze the impact of Golden State Warriors players.

Golden State Warriors 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Season Review

Stephen Curry

Despite having a high ADP and being selected in the first round by many managers, Stephen Curry posted his second-lowest category value in the league by barely finishing in the top 25. The only other time he ranked outside the top 15 was in 2019–20, when an injury limited him to five games. Now 36 years old, many of his stats regressed in 2023–24. Notably, the 10-time All-Star’s numbers in assists and steals were the worst of his career, while his field goal percentage was near the bottom. However, Curry remained top-notch in threes, free throw percentage and points. He led the league in three-point shooting and averaged the 11th-most points. His availability was another advantage, appearing in over 70 games for the first time since 2016–17. The point guard contributed solidly in rebounds, steals and blocks, achieving his best record in the latter column. Curry’s worst category was turnovers, but he had the second-lowest turnover rate of his career.

  • Stats: 26.4 PPG, 5.1 APG, 4.5 RPG, 0.7 SPG, 0.4 BPG, 4.8 3PM, 2.8 TOV, 45/41/92, 74 GP

Draymond Green

Availability was a significant issue for Draymond Green, as he missed large chunks of the year due to his unsportsmanlike conduct. He was suspended twice after putting a headlock on one player and hitting another, and missed 17 games as a result. While his stats weren’t mind-blowing, the 34-year-old’s ability to offer a little of everything was just enough to land him in the top 100 in the league value category. Green’s primary contributions were assists and rebounds, while his defensive effort of about two sticks per game proved beneficial. The forward showed solid efficiency, with most of his attempts coming from close to the basket. His free throws weren’t as practical, but he’s only shot over 80% from the free throw line once in his career. Turnovers were a problem for Green, and his impact on threes and points was minimal, as he’s not known as a scorer.

  • Stats: 8.6 PPG, 6.0 APG, 7.2 RPG, 1.0 SPG, 0.9 BPG, 0.9 3PM, 2.5 TOV, 50/40/73, 55 GP

Chris Paul

Chris Paul’s role with the Warriors was hotly debated ahead of the 2023-24 season. He came off the bench for the first time and started only 18 games. As a result, his fantasy ranking in that category dropped significantly compared to the previous season, barely staying in the top 100. According to Basketball Monster, Paul’s 97th ranking was also the worst of his career. Ultimately, the 39-year-old’s value is declining as his time in the NBA draws to a close. Last season was the first time he averaged single-digit points, and his numbers in most of the nine major categories ranked at the low end of his career stats. The point guard could still be used for some plays, steals, and few turnovers. His shooting percentage from the free throw line was better than from the field, but he didn’t get to the free throw line often. Likewise, three-pointers, rebounds, blocks, and points were also his weak points.

  • Stats: 9.2 PPG, 6.8 APG, 3.9 RPG, 1.2 SPG, 0.1 BPG, 1.3 3PM, 1.3 TOV, 44/37/83, 58 GP
  • Category rank: 97
  • Points ranking: 105

Klay Thompson

For the first time since his rookie year, Klay Thompson failed to finish in the top 75 of his category leagues and was benched for some time in February and March. Despite his declining performance, some managers were hesitant to let the four-time NBA champion go, likely due to his good name. Thompson’s impact on fantasy shooting was limited to a few categories: three-pointers, free throw percentage, points, and few turnovers. The guard/forward led the league in free throw percentage and ranked fifth in three-pointers. Aside from those categories, his impact on the rest of the league was minimal. He was never known as a great playmaker or rebounder, but Thompson’s numbers in defensive categories have dropped over the years. His field goal percentage was also lackluster, and he never shot above 50% from the field.

  • Stats: 17.9 PPG, 2.3 APG, 3.3 RPG, 0.6 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 3.5 3PM, 1.5 TOV, 43/39/93, 77 GP
  • Category rank: 99

Jonathan Kuminga

Jonathan Kuminga’s third year as a pro was filled with new personal bests, and he broke into the top 200 in fantasy football for the first time. He averaged career highs in all nine major categories (including turnovers) except threes. He started more than ever before, but his role fluctuated between the front line and the bench. As a result, reports surfaced that Kuminga was unhappy with his role and minutes in Golden State. But that sentiment seemed to dissipate toward the end of the season, when the 21-year-old stated that he wanted to be a Warrior for life. Despite improvements in his game, Kuminga’s numbers didn’t stand out in any particular category. His most valuable was his efficient field goal percentage, and his turnovers, points, rebounds and blocks were decent. The forward wasn’t a reliable source of assists or steals, but his free throw percentage and threes were where he was most lacking. However, he converted over 70% of his foul attempts for the first time.

  • Stats: 16.1 PPG, 2.2 APG, 4.8 RPG, 0.7 SPG, 0.5 BPG, 0.7 3PM, 1.6 TOV, 53/32/75, 74 GP
