Why the NDC Manifesto Matters – Franklin Cudjoe (Listen)

IMANI Africa President Franklin Cudjoe has praised the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s 2024 manifesto ahead of the December 7 elections.

According to him, although the manifesto addressed several sectors and policies of other presidential candidates, it was still clear, understandable, human and universal.

In his view, this is what makes the NDC manifesto stand out from the others.

“Politicians are interesting and I like the fact that they are all focused on the big issues: jobs, private sector and education, which is very important. Mahama, Bawumia, Alan, Cheddar, all these people are essentially talking about jobs, economy and then maybe also trying to transform the private sector, which is a good thing.

“But let me say that what made the NDC manifesto different from the rest, from what I had on hand that day, was the fact that it was relatable, clear, human and universal,” he said.

Topics ‘Change to reset GhanaThe manifesto, released on August 24, outlined a comprehensive plan to reorient Ghana’s economy, alleviate economic hardship, promote good governance, and address gender equality and period poverty.

On Adom FM’s morning show he said: Dwaso NsemMr Cudjoe stressed that for him the promise of party leader John Mahama to provide free sanitary pads and to give 30% of public offices to qualified women was the core of the manifesto.

He noted that addressing the needs of the people, especially the marginalised and ‘neglected’, underlines the importance of good governance.
