GdS: From pressing to possession

After AC Milan failed to win their first two games in Serie A, there are many questions about AC Milan and they need to be answered quickly.

Starting the season with one point from two games is a terrible start for a club that is at least expected to be in contention for the title, and although it is not impossible for Milan to still be in the race at the end of the season, they have already made life difficult for themselves.

The draw in the first game wasn’t too bad, as some of the Rossoneri’s rivals for the Scudetto also drew. However, the defeat in the second game creates a gap that will take some time to close. Just a look at the Serie A table shows that there is already a gap of 12 places to make up.

Of course it is possible and we must not get carried away. If the Rossoneri had won their first two games, the message would be the same – the season is long and there is still plenty of time.

With this in mind, time needs to be used properly and there are several things that need to be corrected.

As the Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) writes, the Diavolo currently has numerous deficiencies. Starting with the defense – four goals conceded in 180 minutes of football is terrible and needs to be corrected quickly. Especially when you consider that the defense was a weak point last season.

The report goes on to state that every single principle of Paulo Fonseca, doesn’t workat least not yet. There are problems with the Rossoneri’s pressing. There are problems with the Rossoneri’s intensity. With the Rossoneri’s possession of the ball, There are problemsFinally, some of the key players seem irrelevant.

Fonseca was the coach personally selected by management, but perhaps their choice was not the right one. At least, that’s how it might seem at the moment.
