TikToker behind viral anthem ‘Looking for a Man in Finance’ adds surprising new lyrics

The TikToker behind the viral sensation “Looking for a Man in Finance” appears to have added new lyrics to her popular chorus.

Megan Boni, 26, was working in sales by day when her catchy song about finding a tall and rich man with blue eyes went viral — and sparked countless remixes around the world. Now the singer, known as @girl_on_couch, says she has quit her job, is making calls to major companies and is in the process of looking for an agent, according to People.

The song repeatedly says: “I am looking for a man in the financial/trust sector, 6’5″ tall, blue eyes.”

Since Boni first shared the catchy tune three weeks ago, the TikTok clip has been viewed more than 26 million times, received thousands of likes on social media and has been played frequently in the club world.

And now the singer seems to have added new lyrics to the song, according to videos shared on social media.

A TikTok shared by DJ @loudluxury shows a video of the song with the caption, “No way the man in finance added a new verse.” The song then plays with an additional line where Boni can be heard saying, “Guys I’m still f***ing looking for my man. Will you help me find my man?”

A representative of Boni confirmed to The Independent that the line was added specifically for Loud Luxury.

“I am obsessed with Loud Luxury and the attention they give to my voice!” Boni said The Independent. “I’m in constant contact with them and feel honored that they continue to play this version in such large venues. Hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to make a small appearance at one of their shows soon!”

The extended version, “Man In Finance (G6 Trust Fund),” was released on May 17 and features the familiar lyrics as well as snippets of Boni recounting a date and saying, “Hi, yeah, I just got off the date/ And I don’t know, am I asking for too much? / And this guy was really sweet and he was a musician and he was passionate about what he did/ But I don’t know, that’s all I’m looking for.”

Accordingly PeopleBoni came up with the idea for the song when he thought of people who complained about being single but had a strict list of hard dealbreakers that were difficult to get over.

“I just joked about it and started thinking about the craziest, most difficult things you can find in a man. I wrote them down and then I came up with this rhyme,” she said.

The song has been widely remixed by musicians, DJs and content creators on social media, which Boni says he appreciates.

“People ask if I’m upset that I’m not credited and I say, ‘No way, I literally begged the DJs to do a remix!'”
