ATP US Open 1/64 finals

Djere – Struff: August 26, 2024 10:00 p.m. CEST
H2H: 1-2

Laslo Djere has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Winston-Salem, Laslo lost his first round match against Svajda in straight sets. Overall, it was a poor performance from the Serb. This was also his first hard court match since the Masters tournament in Miami in March. So far this season, Djere has played five hard court matches and has a losing record of 1-4. He has also had some fitness issues this season which caused him to fall out of the top 100 rankings. Last year in New York, Djokovic reached the third round where he lost to Djokovic in five tough sets.

Jan-Lennard Struff has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Cincinnati, Struff lost in the first round to Tsitsipas in three close sets. It was also his first hard court tournament since the Masters tournament in Miami. This season, Struff has achieved his best results on clay. However, he has not yet been able to show a solid result on hard court. Last year, Struff did not play in the US Open due to injury.

Best bet

According to the bookies, Struff is the big favorite in this matchup. Looking at their current form, we can say that Jan is in better shape than Djere. He is also a better hard court player, so we believe he will dominate against Djere from the start.

Apart from that, It is a worthwhile bet that Struff will cover the handicap of the game.

Value bet/best odds: Jan-Lennard Struff -5.5 games handicap @1.83 @bet365

Rune – Nakashima: 08/26/2024 11:00 p.m. CEST
H2H: 0-2

Holger Rune has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Cincinnati, Holger reached the semifinals, where he lost to Tiafoe in three tight sets. It was a solid tournament preparation for Holger, who wants to play a solid tournament here in New York. The former world number four recently parted ways with his coach Patrick Mouratouglou. Rune has had a rough season so far with constant fitness problems, which led to him falling out of the top 10 in the rankings. Last year in New York, Rune lost in the first round in four sets to Carballes Baena.

Brandon Nakashima has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Cincinnati, Nakashima reached the round of 16 when he lost to Rublev in straight sets. On his way to the round of 16, Brandon won against Fritz and Fils, who are solid hard court players. Earlier in the season, Nakashima spent most of his time at the Challenger Tour level. However, his consistent tennis brought him back into the top 50. Last year at the US Open, Brandon lost his first round match to Djere in straight sets.

Best bet

According to the bookies, Rune is the slight favorite in this matchup. Holger loves playing on the biggest stage and has had solid performances over the past two weeks. We believe he is a better player overall than Brandon and should win comfortably here.

Apart from that, A rune win is a worthwhile bet.
