“Jenn Tran is a sweet and compassionate woman who has dedicated her life to helping others,” Tran’s Bachelorette bio reads. “The bilingual Vietnamese beauty currently lives in Miami and is ready to find love with a man who is as reliable and thoughtful as she is.”

In an interview with USA TODAY, Tran said she felt “a lot of pressure” to be the first Asian-American Bachelorette, adding that her induction was a “quite historic moment.”

“This is a moment that many people have been waiting for,” Tran said. “And it means a lot to us because we are working toward change.”
