Montreal’s upbeat power-pop band Dany Laj And The Looks are back with a bang with their new party anthem “Meet Me On The Floor.” They’re also finally dusting off their tour bus and heading back on the road with a series of dates across the US.

The last few years have been frustrating times for Dany Laj And The Looks, whose relentless touring schedule was halted in its prime by lockdown and everything that followed. As a band that has developed their very own vibrant brand of power pop with infectious melodies, energetic performances and a distinctive sound that brings a classic garage rock vibe into the modern era, this is a band born to tour. As Dany himself says: “In 2021 we made a record that we thought was great, Ten Easy Pieces. But we haven’t had a chance to tour with it yet. Every time we tried to tour, the world just stopped. Frankly, we were sick of not touring. We miss it, and the road is where we belong.”

The Looks’ last single was You Should Know and was released in November 2022. But with the announcement of an extensive US tour and the brand new single Meet Me On The Floor building momentum, that’s all set to change.

“Meet Me On The Floor” is a breezy and infectious party anthem, with Dany’s distinctive vocals layered over broken rhythms and a rousing mix of garage rock and power pop that’s guaranteed to fill the dance floor. Joining Dany on lead vocals and guitar is long-time bassist/vocalist Jeanette Dowling, as well as new look David Laplante on guitar and drummer Alex Pauzé. Stacey Case makes a guest appearance on tambourine.

The Looks are finally going on tour this fall. They’ll be travelling from Northern Ontario to British Columbia with K-Man & The 45s from September to mid-October, then touring the USA on their own until the end of October, from the Midwest to the Northeast. In November they’ll be touring again, playing Canadian shows with Paul Collins’ Beat.
