Santhosh Narayanan’s music will add great value to our project

Santhosh Narayanan, the composer known for hits like cuckoo, Jigarthanda, Kabaliand the youngest Kalki 2898 ADmakes his Kannada debut with Balaramana Dinagalu. Set in the 70s and 80s, this period drama stars Vinod Prabhakar in the lead role and is directed by KM Chaitanya. The film’s shooting is scheduled to begin in October. Santhosh, who previously worked on the background music for Luciawill work as a senior music director in Kannada cinema for the first time.

Vinod Prabhakar, who marked a milestone with this film, praised Narayanan’s music and its suitability for impactful cinema. “This is my 25th film and Chaitanya’s 10th. We believe Santhosh Narayanan’s music will add a lot of value to our project. His music speaks for itself and his compositions, especially in the gangster genre, are incredibly popular. We thought he was the perfect choice for this film,” says Prabhakar, who further reveals how they brought Narayanan on board, noting, “We started in May before the release of Kalki 2898 AD. His quick approval of the script was promising. Balaramana Dinagalu “Set in the retro era, we are excited about the creative possibilities and proud to have him in Kannada cinema.”

Santhosh shared his excitement about entering the Kannada film industry and emphasised his personal connection with the language. “My mother was supported by Kannada speaking people and is fluent in Kannada. I feel a strong connection with this language and am happy to work with Chaitanya and Vinod Prabhakar on Balaramana Dinagalu”, he says.
