The highly anticipated iPhone 16 series is close to its official launch, and recent leaks reveal the expected schedule and prices of the new models.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the announcement of the 2024 iPhones is likely imminent, with the launch event set to take place in the next few weeks. This leak also offers details on when the new devices will launch and what prices they are expected to fetch.

iPhones will be launched on September 10th
Bloomberg’s report, citing sources familiar with Apple’s plans, suggests that the iPhone 16 series will be officially unveiled on September 10. Apple is expected to unveil four new models at this event: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. This launch is expected to be Apple’s last major event of the year.

In keeping with Apple’s tradition of rapid product releases, the new iPhones are expected to be available for purchase shortly after launch, i.e. from September 20th. This is in line with Apple’s usual strategy of ensuring the shortest possible wait time between product announcement and availability.

Prices leaked
Along with the launch dates, pricing details for the iPhone 16 series have also surfaced online. According to information shared by Apple Hub via a post on X (formerly Twitter), the base model of the iPhone 16 is expected to cost $799, which is around Rs 67,100 in India. The iPhone 16 Plus with a larger display could cost $899, or around Rs 75,500.

For those considering the premium options, the iPhone 16 Pro is likely to start at $1,099 (roughly Rs 92,300) for the 256GB variant. The top-of-the-line iPhone 16 Pro Max could start at $1,199 (roughly Rs 1,00,700) with the same storage capacity. Both the standard and Pro models are expected to come in multiple storage configurations. The standard models are expected to come in 256GB and 512GB options, while the Pro variants may come in 512GB and 1TB options.

Prices for Pro devices rise in India
It is important to note that the prices of these models are expected to be significantly higher in India, as was the case with previous releases. For comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro was launched in India at a price of Rs 134,900, while the Pro Max started at Rs 159,900. The iPhone 15 was priced at Rs 79,900 for the 128GB model, and the Plus version was available for Rs 89,900.

While the standard iPhone 16 models are expected to maintain similar pricing, the Pro models could see a price increase due to various upgrades. However, these details are yet to be officially confirmed.
