Diablo 4 players are asking Blizzard for a quality of life improvement that will fix waypoint grinding.

Diablo 4 Season 5 is in full swing and players have been giving it a mixed bag. The developers have capitalized on Season 4’s dramatic item overhaul and added Infernal Hordes, which have become the preferred endgame grind for Sanctuary’s soldiers.

On the other hand, early bugs and performance issues, as well as some misfires with the complementary Mother’s Blessing event, have dampened enthusiasm. While issues with the season’s newer additions have kept the wheels grinding a little, ongoing problems with the implementation of Diablo 4’s seasonal content still cause frustration.

Reddit user BusinessCommunity813 has raised the issue of Diablo 4’s fast travel points resetting for each new character. Many players in the thread agree that the repeated, tedious process of unlocking waypoints has become “boring.”

With the fifth major content update for the game, Diablo 4 players have become accustomed to the idea of creating at least one new character for each season. While trying out new builds and tools helps the game’s replay value, the question of what should carry over to new characters is a point of contention between Blizzard and players.

“It’s entirely reasonable to assume that waypoints should be unlocked automatically to improve quality of life,” BusinessCommunity813 said in his post. Currently, any new character you create in Diablo 4 must take a tour of Sanctuary to unlock any fast travel points you’ve previously accessed.

It requires non-optional, tedious work to access the specific content you need to properly hone your build, and players are fed up with it. “Running around and getting waypoints for the umpteenth time is not fun,” one user agreed.

“I agree 100%. Players who won the campaign or previously unlocked it outside of the campaign should have waypoints unlocked,” another player added. “They are part of the progression for the campaign and feel bad outside of the campaign.”

Waypoints are tied to reputation grinding in Diablo 4, which could cause problems.

Going back and forth to collect waypoints can be annoying, especially at the start of a new season when you want to jump right into the new content Blizzard has cooked up. Players are calling for a quality-of-life update to alleviate some of the boredom, but it’s uncertain whether the developers will respond.
