Noah Lyles pays Tyreek Hill an ambiguous compliment: “The one who thinks he’s fast”

Tyreek Hill, wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, and Noah Lyles, the American sprinter, are among the best athletes in the world in their respective sports, but there is no sympathy between them.

The two had a little argument this summer, and to add to the drama, Lyles just gave Hill a backhanded compliment.

When Lyles was asked to name a celebrity who would be a fast sprinter, he chose Hill, but threw some shade in the process.

“I have to say, gosh, I always forget his name – the football player who thinks he’s fast – the Cheetah, something,” he said. “Tyreek Hill, that one, yeah, that one.”

Even if the argument has become a legitimate issue, it may have been sparked by a misunderstanding.

Last summer, Lyles made headlines when he argued that teams that win the NBA Finals shouldn’t be called “world champions” because the NBA isn’t a worldwide league. His comments drew opposition from countless members of the sports world, although some agreed with him.

This summer, Hill was told during a media appearance that Lyles had made the same comments about Super Bowl winners. However, there appears to be no public record of Lyles making such a statement specifically about Super Bowl winners, so this may have been a misunderstanding.

When he learned that Lyles had made these comments about the Super Bowl winners, Hill responded with harsh criticism of the sprinter and sweetened the offer by saying that he would beat Lyles in a race.

Lyles later added fuel to the fire.

There have been talks about the two athletes actually competing against each other, but it remains to be seen whether that will work out.

Lyles just won two medals at the Paris Olympics – a gold and a bronze. Hill, meanwhile, hopes to win a Super Bowl ring with the Dolphins next season, which would be the second of his NFL career.

Although Lyles and Hill obviously have differences, they are both extremely talented athletes who achieve a lot in their respective sports. It will be interesting to see if their feud develops further in the future.
