Netflix plans to add 32 TV shows and movies to its streaming offering this week (August 26 to September 1, 2024). Here are the three most interesting ones in my humble opinion:

Untold: Sign Stealer – Netflix documentary
Connor Stalions, the former University of Michigan employee who was involved in the football program’s 2023 sign-stealing scandal, will tell his story publicly for the first time in this exclusive Netflix documentary. While that suggests we’ll get full disclosure, Netflix documentaries tend to give the people involved a lot of room to dodge and evade. But hopefully we’ll at least get a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of the sideline antics that led to Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s three-game suspension. Premiering Tuesday, August 27.

Jaws (1975)
Director Steven Spielberg’s big-fish drama remains one of the most thrilling and exciting films of all time, with standout performances from Roy Scheider as the town sheriff, Richard Dreyfuss as a marine biologist and Robert Shaw as a wily boat captain. And what a great time to watch (or rewatch) the film, with summer almost over. Opening September 1.

Field of Dreams (1989)
In this fantasy sports film, Kevin Costner plays a struggling Iowa farmer who is called by the spirits of the game to build a baseball field on his property. Only Costner at his best (or maybe Tom Hanks) could pull off this idea, but it’s a great and touching film about baseball, family and the power of nostalgia. And you don’t have to be a baseball fan to love this heartwarming film. Opening September 1.
