Runway hit Black Myth: Wukong has all the elements of a Souls-like game, including a complex resource system. This guide is designed to help players farm XP, Will, and Sparks as efficiently as possible.

Bamboo Forest Snake Trail

There is an early farm available at this point in Chapter 1 that requires the Incense Trail Talisman. Simply bind it to a quick slot and you can then fast travel to the start of the farm route to your heart’s content at the end of each farm run. Head up the stairs and focus your efforts on a sequence of four reptilian-headed enemies to get the maximum Will payout while ignoring the weaker enemies. This ultra-fast run is worth around 700 Will, as well as XP and other resources like Mind Core Materials.

As a bonus, you can kite and surround the skeletal enemies in the open grove near the end. This will crowd them all together and can be killed quickly, and it might be worth the ~30 willpower per kill.

Three runs should give you the 2,000 Willpower you need to level up and get a single Spark.

Fright Cliff Rockrest Apartment

From Fright Cliff Rockrest Flat, go right and kill the shield-carrying enemy first, then the next one in the distance. Then go backwards towards Fright Cliff Rockrest Flat and hit the rock enemy with a quick combo before it can fully stand up.

Destroy the pots behind the rock enemy to get any will, then climb the stairs. Kill the lone enemy on the right ledge, then jump down the stairs to get behind the shield enemy who has now climbed the stairs.

Head towards Fright Cliff Rockrest Flat again, but keep left to encounter another shield enemy. Enter the cave and take out the three remaining enemies on this run before returning to Fright Cliff Rockrest Flat to rest and heal for the next round.

Two runs should earn you a level up and the corresponding spark.

Tiny piece of gold

The Tiny Gold Piece is an uncommon item that can be sold to the Guardian for 99 Willpower. It is often found in chests scattered throughout the world. Since they have no other use in the game, you should discard them early and often.

Prop destruction

Pots are scattered throughout the game world, and when broken, they can yield small amounts of willpower. These pots respawn after a while and can serve as a permanent source of willpower in an emergency.
