Verve expands the agency’s leadership team

The literary and talent agency Verve is expanding its management team.

The Los Angeles-based representation firm has hired executive Jennifer Jones as general counsel/head of business affairs and promoted partner Liz Parker to managing partner, the agency said Thursday.

Jones joins from Condé Nast, where she served for three years as head of global business affairs and led content deals at the magazine giant. Previously, Jones was vice president of business affairs at Disney+, worked in legal affairs at Marvel Entertainment and was an attorney at Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Parker, who was promoted to managing partner last year, now has oversight of Verve’s day-to-day operations and will lead strategic initiatives. She joined the agency from InkWell Management in 2018 to build Verve’s publishing division and was named co-head of Motion Picture Literary in 2022.

Parker recently worked on deals including an upcoming Chris Farley biopic at New Line and the auction of the Scarlett Johansson-starring, Greg Berlanti-produced thriller. Sasha to Amazon MGM. The agent has also been trying to adapt Reddit IP for potential film and television deals.

“Liz has been the secret sauce behind some of our biggest successes and her leadership has driven some of our most successful initiatives,” said Verve co-founders Bryan Besser and Adam Levine. “Jennifer is a rock star in her field and is a perfect fit for Verve as we embark on the next chapter.”

“It’s been a wild journey and we’re just getting started,” Parker noted. “I’m honored to take on this new role and continue to expand Verve’s reach and platform, alongside such a talented team and vibrant culture that truly sets us apart.”

Jones added: “Verve’s ability to push boundaries has always impressed me. It’s incredibly exciting to join the team at such a transformative time and I look forward to contributing to our next big successes.”
