As the X-Men make their way into the MCU, fans have begun casting their versions of the characters for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as some characters did not appear in either the Fox-verse or the MCU.

While Olivia Munn was a great Psylocke, Marvel may try to cast someone younger for the role in the MCU. One of the fan favorite contenders for the role is Anna Sawai, whose work in Shogun And Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters.

Fans are convinced that Anna Sawai will be a great choice for Psylocke (previously played by Olivia Munn) as she has already shown her action skills in Shogun. Some fans were skeptical about their height, as Betsy Braddock and Kwannon are both well over 6 feet tall.

Considering that there was a Wolverine who was bigger than his comic book model, there is no reason for an actress as deserving as Anna Sawai to pass up a role that suits her so well.

Anna Sawai received much praise from critics for her work on Shogunwhich is a great starting point for the character of Kwannon or Betsy Braddock. Sawai is also young enough to have enough leeway in her career to develop the character for the next decade and a half if necessary. Psylocke’s introduction would also herald the arrival of Captain Britain, who is another character fans would love to see in the MCU.

Will the MCU be interested in casting younger actors in the roles of Charles Xavier’s first mutant squad?

The casting of the MCU’s X-Men could go either way. Marvel could focus more on older characters for the casting of Charles Xavier’s top students if the focus is on new students at Xavier’s school for the gifted with characters like Scott, Jean, and Wolverine as teachers.

Alternatively, Marvel could hire younger actors if they wanted to focus on the inaugural class of Xavier’s Mutant Academy. Both approaches have merit, as the first allows us to see fan-favorite characters in their prime from the beginning, while the second gives audiences actors who can play their respective roles for quite a long time.
