In his career, Rublev has played 10 Grand Slam quarterfinals so far, with a losing record of 0-10. However, he has performed well in the opening stages of Grand Slams. Last year in New York, Rublev lost in the quarterfinals to Medvedev.

Thiago Seyboth Wild has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Winston-Salem, Thiago lost to Tien in the round of 16 of the tournament. As a Brazilian, Seyboth spent most of his time on clay courts. Thiago won the US Open boys’ title in 2018. However, he has yet to win a main draw match at the US Open. Last year in New York, Seyboth Wild lost to Kolar in straight sets in the second round of qualifying.

According to the bookies, Rublev is the big favorite in this matchup. Andrey is in top form and is an overall better hard court player than Seyboth Wild. Rublev will go into this match confidently, so we believe he will dominate from the start.

Casper Ruud has lost three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Cincinnati, Casper lost to Auger-Aliassime in straight sets. Overall, it was a poor performance from Ruud. This part of the season has been his least favorite. He always delivers good results on clay, but usually disappoints on the faster hard courts. However, Casper reached the final here at the 2022 US Open, where he fought for his first Grand Slam title and the number one spot in the world rankings. Ultimately, Casper failed against Alcaraz, but played a great tournament overall. Last year at the US Open, Ruud lost in the second round to Zhang in five sets.

Yunchaokete Bu has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Bu reached the semifinals at Challenger Tour level in Lincoln, where he lost to Fearnley in three sets. Here in New York, Bu successfully fought his way through the qualifying tournament. He won the first two qualifying rounds in two sets. In the last qualifying round, Bu defeated Karatsev in three close sets. This will be his first Grand Slam appearance.

According to the bookies, Ruud is the big favorite in this matchup. We’ve spent a lot of time at Challenger Tour level recently and have had some very solid results. Ruud, on the other hand, has struggled with form recently. We think Bu will keep this match close.
