His uncle got a fishing hook stuck in his finger and didn’t want his brother to remove it for free, so the hospital did it for $200 » TwistedSifter
Some people can cope with severe pain better than others, and traumatic events can apparently cause rifts in families.
This brother knew he could handle a fishing injury, but his brother preferred to pay for the privilege of seeing a doctor.
Find all the details below!
My uncle Kyle got a hook stuck in his finger.
He refused to let my father take it off and started screaming:
“GET ME INLAND, FIND A PAYPHONE AND CALL AN AMBULANCE!!”
There was no arguing with him.
So my father drove him to the hospital.
Uncle Kyle came out with a bandage on his thumb and a grim look on his face.
It turned out that they did exactly what my father wanted to do:
Cut off the spines at the end of the hook and slowly pull the thing out.
But then a wound of a different kind formed.
The only difference was that it cost my Uncle Kyle $200 and my dad threw in an “I told you so.”
My father said that after that they never traveled alone again.
This is what people say:
I think that would have made things worse, but I guess it depends on the family.
That would have cost a fortune and tied up resources that someone else might have needed.
Something tells me Uncle wasn’t the Boy Scout type.
Is this a mandatory male thing to strengthen the bond between men? I don’t understand.
That made me smile.
This brother wanted drama.
And he found plenty of it!
