JAMMU, Aug 25: BJP OBC Morcha leader and member of the party’s Election Management Committee, Sunil Prajapati, spoke to a party worker at the BJP office in Trikuta Nagar and advised them to make all-out efforts to reach out to the people of the OBC community and the general public in all constituencies and highlight the committed efforts of the Modi government to ensure justice and betterment of the condition of the poor people of J&K.

He also explained the necessary steps taken by the Modi government for implementing OBC reservation in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time and other amelioration measures for the OBC category like reservation in panchayats and urban local body elections and increasing reservation for OBCs from 2% to 8%. The meeting was attended by Braham Jyot Satti (Prabhari OBC Morcha), Suresh Salgotra (Vice President OBC Morcha), Ravi Mehra (Vice President OBC Morcha), Ram Pal (District President Jammu South), Ashok Salgotra (District President Jammu) and other State, District and Mandal office bearers.

Prajapati asked the team members to conduct door-to-door campaigns in their respective constituencies and distribute pamphlets highlighting the achievements of the Modi government in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The aim was to make people aware about the welfare schemes for the poor and the OBC category and the developments undertaken by the Modi government in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.

Sunil Prajapati, on the occasion, also shed light on the welfare schemes, youth start-up mission and various road and railway projects undertaken by the Modi government in J&K UT in the last few years. He stressed that the meetings should be held regularly including small meetings like Nukkar and Mohalla meetings. He also wished that the election meeting should be organised from the lower level to the constituency level and that our teams should reach out to everyone and inform them about the achievements and developments of the Modi government in J&K. The Modi government after abrogation of Article 370 and conversion of J&K into UT has succeeded in curbing terrorism and stopping stone pelting in the terror prone areas in the valley. The Modi government has successfully suppressed terrorism which started spreading towards Jammu region due to a conspiracy. The people of J&K have suffered greatly due to terrorism in the era of NC Congress party. To avoid a similar situation in the future, the NC and Congress parties must be rejected en masse in the parliamentary elections.

Prajapati also stressed that every party worker must show commitment and raise awareness about all social programmes through door-to-door campaigning to help BJP win the assembly elections and make it the largest party.

He also wished that the OBC community should be given detailed information about the reservations given by the Modi government in the OBC category and the reservations increased to 8% and the reservations provided in panchayats and urban local bodies to ensure adequate representation of OBCs at the panchayat and municipal level. He hoped that the BJP would emerge as the largest party after the election due to the dedicated efforts of all the team members.
