Jamie Oliver shares rare photo of son Buddy – and he is almost as tall as his father
Jamie Oliver is a loving father of five children and on Saturday the TV star gave a rare glimpse of his tall son Buddy.
Taking to his Instagram stories, the chef uploaded a carousel of images from a healthy gathering. Among the snaps was a cheerful picture of him posing with food activist Danny McCubbin and 13-year-old Buddy, who looked so grown up he almost towered over his famous father.
In the radiant picture, Jamie looked stylish as always, dressed in a printed shirt, blue jeans and suede boots, while Buddy kept it casual in a white T-shirt, baggy jeans and latte-colored sandals.
The trio seemed to be in their element as they enjoyed drinks, socialised with friends and family and then a spectacular fireworks display.
Buddy seems to be following in his father’s footsteps. The boy has long been interested in cooking and has now published a cookbook with the title. Let’s cook.
On Instagram, Jamie told his followers at the time: “Buddy has been my shadow in the kitchen since he was a child and for him, cooking has always been a real adventure.”
“As a dad who cooks, it has been such a joy to watch and be a part of him learning new skills and cooking new dishes… Just look at these pictures of Baby Buds!!!”
He continued: “And now he has released his own cookbook, which shows that you are never too young to make incredible things, to get involved and to have a good laugh while doing it.”
Besides Buddy, Jamie, 49, and his wife Jools, also 49, share Poppy, 22, Daisy, 21, Petal, 15, and River, 7.
The family live in a beautiful house in Essex, complete with ten bathrooms, two drawing rooms and a great hall. Outside, their sprawling property includes 70 acres of lawns, a three-bedroom woodland house and converted stables.
In an interview with The timesThe star of “Jamie’s One-Pan Wonders” revealed why he decided to buy the spacious villa at a time when his restaurant chain on the main shopping street had to file for bankruptcy.
“If only I had media experience, I wouldn’t have moved there when everything went wrong,” he admitted. “Nobody really knows why I bought this house.”
He continued: “Coming from my birthplace to this house, which has belonged to only three families in 600 years, represents social mobility for me as a child who had a class for children with special needs at school.”
