Striker Mehdi Taremi is happy to be able to contribute to Inter Milan.

The Iranian international spoke to the Italian broadcaster DAZN about FCInterNewsafter his team’s 2-0 win against Lecce. He also praised his teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan and spoke about the possibility of playing in a strike trio.

Taremi made his first start in Serie A last night.

It was an effective performance from the 32-year-old. He may not have got on the scoresheet, but his signature was clearly visible in Inter’s 2-0 victory.

It was Taremi who passed the ball to Matteo Darmian, who scored the first goal for the Nerazzurri.

And throughout the game, the former Porto striker gave Inter’s attacking presence.

Taremi showed exactly why Inter signed him. Even when captain Lautaro Martinez was out injured, the Nerazzurri had a real reference point in attack.

Taremi noted: “At Porto, I was often on the bench at the beginning. But then my level improved and I got playing time.”

“My goal is to help the team. And also to get a place in the starting eleven.”

Meanwhile, Taremi also commented on the possibility of a strike trio with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

This is a front trio that Inter coaches Simone Inzaghi had tested against Genoa last weekend.

“That’s a question for the coach, not for me,” said Taremi.

“I always give my best, whether it’s ninety minutes or ten.”

And Taremi also noted: “I appreciate Mkhitaryan and all my teammates. They help me improve day by day.”

“They believe in my quality and then I try to improve.”

Taremi called the Inter teammate who helped him the most “Mkhi”.
