WARNING: Contains possible spoilers for DC Vs. Vampires: World War V #1!The iconic Batman Villain silence has possibly just made his most dramatic comeback in comic book history by Batgirl in bestseller Otherworlds series DC vs VampiresIf the next issue confirms the death of Barbara Gordon, it will not only throw DC’s Vampire War into complete chaos, but it will also raise a crucial question: Who will take on Batgirl’s role? I think I already have the answer.

Hush delivers Damian’s message, “Sic semper tyrannis,” before detonating a bomb that sets them both on fire.

Matthew Rosenberg, Otto Schmidt and Pierluigi Casolino DC vs. Vampires: World War V #1 escalates the Otherworlds epic by turning the already bitter war between vampires and humans into a three-sided conflict involving Barbara’s vampire army, Damian’s vampire guerrilla fighters, and the remaining humans of Earth.

In addition to this increased complexity, Rosenberg introduces new characters into the narrative, including Thomas Elliot – formerly Bruce Wayne’s childhood friend, now the villain Hush. Hush is particularly fascinating in this series because He takes Damian Wayne’s side and seemingly deals the vampire queen a fatal blow. However, there could be a big twist surrounding the “return” of this villain.

Hush has just killed the vampire queen Batgirl in DC vs. Vampires: World War V (I find)

DC vs Vampires: World War V #1 Batgirl 4

Batgirl makes her debut in the sequel towards the end DC vs. Vampires: World War V #1, stands on her balcony overlooking Gotham. Her peaceful moment is abruptly interrupted when one of Damian’s guerrilla vampires sneaks up on her. Batgirl seems to recognize the vampire as Hush, but despite the bandages covering his face – Hush’s typical look – I’m not entirely convinced it’s himas Damian’s other vampires are also shown wearing face bandages earlier in the issue. Regardless of his true identity, however, I believe this vampire may have successfully killed Batgirl.

Although Batgirl calls for her guards, she must defend herself as Damian’s large-scale attack on her headquarters unfolds. She attacks “Hush” only to discover that this was his plan from the beginning. He delivers Damian’s message, “Sic semper tyrannis”, before setting off a bomb that engulfs them both in flames. Batgirl is shown burning alive before falling hundreds of stories. Although the comic ends without confirming her death, the footage strongly suggests it. This raises the critical question of who will take over the reigns of the vampires if Batgirl is dead or too injured to continue ruling.

“Sic semper tyrannis” is a Latin phrase that generally means that tyrannical leaders will eventually be overthrown.

Wonder Woman would most likely become the next vampire queen if Batgirl dies

DC vs Vampires World War V 2 – Main cover advertisement: Vampire Wonder Woman holds a sword to Alfred’s neck.

Thanks to later publicity, fans know that there is still a vampire queen in the series, although Barbara’s name is not explicitly mentioned. This leaves room for the possibility that another female character has taken on the role. If that is the case, I am convinced it will be Wonder Woman. As one of the most powerful vampires in the series, she has served during the reigns of Dick and Barbara. The theory is further supported by Wonder Woman’s prominent presence on both the main and alternate covers, suggesting a main role. While I was excited to see, Batgirl to continue as DC’s vampire queen, I would not mind if Wonder Woman slips into the role instead.
