PGA Tour announces dates for 2025 CJ Cup: Byron Nelson, Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial
The PGA Tour released its 2025 schedule on Wednesday and announced that the two tournaments in North Texas will take their rightful place.
The Nelson and Colonial will return, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson will return to TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney and the Charles Schwab Challenge will take place at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, the Tour’s longest-running venue outside of the major tournaments.
The Nelson Tournament, named in honor of the legendary Texan who won 52 PGA Tour titles in his career, will be held April 28-May 4. The Truist Championship (May 5-11) and the PGA Championship (May 12-18) will take place the following weekends, after which the Tour returns to Texas for the Challenge from May 19-25.
Last year’s Nelson was a blast, won by Canadian Taylor Pendrith in a surprise move. It was his first and so far only victory on the PGA Tour.
Meanwhile, Davis Riley grabbed the Colonial by defeating world number one Scottie Scheffler (quite an accomplishment in 2024) for his second Tour win.
