Ghosts US Spoilers for season 3 follow.

New Girl star Lamorne Morris has joined the cast of Ghosts US season three.

The US version of the recently concluded BBC series returned for its third season earlier this month and showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman have now revealed that Morris will make a guest appearance in the seventh episode.

The actor, known for his role as Winston Bishop on the hit sitcom “New Girl” from 2011 to 2018, will play a ghost named Saul who is bound to a living human for eternity (via TVLine).

When his master visits Woodstone Mansion, Saul forms an unexpected connection with Prohibition-era singer Alberta (Danielle Pinnock).

Morris was last seen in the fifth season of Fargo as Deputy Witt Farr.

The news comes after it was revealed in the season three premiere that Flower (Sheila Carrasco) was the ghost who disappeared from the mansion after being “sucked” into the next realm.

Port and Wiseman explained to Deadline why it made sense for Flower to disappear: “We ended up with Flower, who we thought would be interesting to make disappear because that would create a lot of storylines. A lot of people would react to that in different ways.”

“Thor is obviously in love with Flower and would be devastated. Other ghosts would be jealous of her because she hasn’t been around that long. So it seemed like we were making up a lot of stories.”

However, there is still a chance that Flower will return to the mansion. Port adds: “We’ve had opportunities in previous episodes to bring back ghosts that have been sucked out for stories and so on. And we tell stories with flashbacks and so on.

“So, yes, theoretically there would be ways to still see a ghost that has moved on.”

Ghosts In the US, the series continues on Thursdays on CBS, and in the UK, previous episodes can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
