Who was the owner of the famous nightclub Tall Trees

For years, Yarm Tall Trees was one of the region’s most popular nightclubs, hosting performances by artists such as Girls Aloud and guests such as John Major and Chesney Hawkes.

But it wasn’t just the performances that were impressive, so were the cars parked in the parking lot – Lamborghinis and Ferraris were a perfect fit for the club’s heyday.

So why was the place so popular? Simply because it had plenty of areas where you could have a drink in peace, but also for those who liked to go clubbing and were looking for something unique.

As the home of Club Macmillans – affectionately known as Club M – the venue attracted many big names in the 2000s.

These included Pete Tong, Girls Aloud, Chesney Hawkes and many others.

But now we have answered some important questions about Yarm Tall Trees, including who owned it, what happened to the nightclub and why it was so popular.

Who owned Yarm Tall Trees?

Javed Majid owned Tall Trees in Yarm and saw it transform from a performance venue into a major hotel and nightclub where people came to have a great night out.

Mr Majid was also behind another project on the Tall Trees site in 2013 when he applied for planning permission to build a luxury residential complex including a five-star hotel, apartments, houses, aparthotels, a restaurant and a swimming pool.

He later received permission to build 330 houses on the site.

What happened to Yarm Tall Trees?

After becoming a popular hangout in the 90s and early 00s, the first signs that the venue was in trouble began to emerge in 2010. It was eventually closed, resulting in the loss of 50 employees.

The venue subsequently fell into disrepair and was hit by a fire.

After the former club site was leveled, several proposals were considered, but it was decided to use the site for residential buildings.

The site subsequently received planning permission for 330 homes, which Avant, Bede Homes and Mulberry Homes are currently building on.

A construction project is now being realized on the former Tall Trees site; completion of the entire complex is planned for mid-2025.
