Woman thrown out of sixth floor of house for not bringing money from her parents – ThePrint – PTIFeed

Thane, Aug 24 (PTI) – A 40-year-old housewife sustained serious injuries after her in-laws allegedly threw her off the sixth floor of a building for not bringing money from her parents, police said on Saturday.

Though the incident took place near Mumbra last month, the complaint was filed only on Friday, an official said. No person has been arrested in the case so far.

The woman’s in-laws demanded that she bring money from her parents.

Noor Mohammad, the uncle of her husband Sabir Mukhtar Sheikh, was angry at her refusal and reportedly threw her out of the family’s sixth-floor apartment in the Shailesh Nagar area on July 31.

The woman suffered broken bones in both legs and numerous other injuries and is currently being treated in a hospital, the police officer said.

A first-degree complaint has been filed against Sabir Shaikh, Noor Mohammed, the woman’s mother-in-law, and three other members of the man’s family under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, he said.

Further investigations are ongoing. PTI COR KRK
