Six people arrested for gang rape of 16-year-old girl in Jhapa – myRepublica

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 25: Six persons were arrested for gang raping a 16-year-old girl at different locations on the same night in Jhapa.

Among those arrested are 19-year-old Anish Limbu of Arjundhara Municipality-5, 34-year-old Saroj Rai and 25-year-old Keshav Magar of Arjundhara Municipality-8. Also arrested are 20-year-old Sudip Shrestha, Lanka Rajbansi and Sujan Dangi of Arjundhara-7.

According to the district police headquarters, one of the people involved in the incident is still at large. According to police, the incident occurred on Friday evening. After the girl filed a report on Saturday, the police arrested six of the people involved in the case.

According to Jhapa Police Superintendent Milan KC, three people were involved in an incident on Friday night while four people were involved in another incident. Police have arrested six of those involved in both incidents.

According to police, the sexual assault apparently took place at a fruit stall in the Naya Bazaar area of ​​Arjundhara-8 and then at a hotel. The girl was lured on the pretext of going for a walk and taken to the fruit stall at around 8:30 pm and then to the hotel at around 11 pm.

Police claim that Anish, Saroj and Keshav initially attacked the girl at the fruit stall. She was then taken to Lanka Hotel and Resort in Arjundhara-7 where she was sexually assaulted by four employees, including the hotel owner. The hotel owner is Rajbanshi and the employees involved are Sudip, Sujan and Sanjeev. Another employee of the hotel is currently at large.

Police said the victim’s condition was stable and they are preparing to extend the detention period today to press rape charges against those arrested.
