Subway is temporarily offering 12-inch sandwiches for $6.99 in all but three states

Subway is joining the low-cost war among fast-food restaurants and announced that it will offer all 12-inch sandwiches on its menu for $6.99 from August 26 to September 8.

The offer is available to Subway website or app users who enter the promo code “699FL” before paying.

Traditionally, fast-food chains have often excluded restaurants in Alaska and Hawaii from such promotions. This time, California is also excluded from the agreement.

Many fast food chains said they had to raise their prices since California introduced a $20 minimum wage for fast food workers earlier this year.

“Today, guests have more choices than ever, and all too often that means compromising on quality, variety or taste to find an affordable meal,” said Doug Fry, president of Subway North America. “At Subway, our definition of value is a mix of delicious options at the right price, without compromising on quality. Our menu is full of sandwiches for every budget, and this new offering means our guests can get the sandwiches they crave at a great price.”

Over the summer, numerous fast-food chains began offering inexpensive meals in hopes of winning back customers lost due to rising prices. Heads of several fast-food chains have said that inflation has scared away some customers, and brands like McDonald’s have placed a greater emphasis on affordability in 2024.
