A woman’s story went viral after her partner accused her of wasting water during a 26-minute shower. The woman, who claims to live with her partner, detailed her disagreement in a Reddit post.

According to the original writer, she is a “woman with longer, thick hair” who took a “full body shower” where she “washed her body, face, groomed her hair, and shaved completely.” She claimed her husband “freaked out because I was in the shower for so long.”

She wrote: “My partner was freaking out because I was in the shower for so long. I’m a woman with longer, thick hair and I did what some call a full body shower – I washed myself, put conditioner on my hair, shaved everything, washed my body and face and then got out. My partner said they left the water running in the sink while I was in the shower and asked if I noticed how much water was wasted. I asked how I could hear that while I was in the shower. ‘Exactly.’ followed by other statements.”

“I added the songs I listened to in the shower to her own playlist, 26 minutes total,” she continued on Reddit.

She explained that she takes this long shower every 3-4 days. The woman added, “I don’t shower every day (because I work from home), but when I do, it takes me less than 10 minutes to wash my body and hair for a normal wash.”

“He thinks you’re the property manager for wasting water, but he left the water running the whole time? Worst. Water Police. Ever,” one user said.

Another wrote: “I’m still baffled as to how he could think this proved his point.”

“NO because when I shave and wash everything my husband EXPECTS me to be in there for at least 45 minutes. I just asked him and he said ’45 to an hour’ because my normal showers where I just wash my hair and body are 15 to 30 minutes,” added another.

One person commented: “Exactly. On a day when I don’t wash my hair, a shower takes me about 10-15 minutes. Washing my body and hair? 25-30 minutes. About 45 minutes for everything + shaving. He’s out of his mind.”

One Reddit user said, “Your partner wasted water on purpose to ‘teach you a lesson’. That’s scary logic for one thing, and if you don’t pay the water bill, really, really stupid. If you do pay the water bill, I would ask that you compensate you for the water wastage.”
