The bodies of Shehzad and his companion were discovered on Thursday.

Hyderabad:

A 27-year-old man from Telangana died of dehydration and exhaustion in the Rub al-Khali desert in Saudi Arabia. Mohammad Shehzad Khan, a resident of Karimnagar who had worked for a telecommunications company in Saudi Arabia for three years, was stranded in the desolate and dangerous part of the desert, the Empty Quarter, one of the most dangerous regions in the world.

The Rub al-Khali region stretches for 650 kilometers, is notorious for its harsh conditions and extends across the southern regions of Saudi Arabia and into neighboring countries.

The incident occurred when Shehzad, who was accompanied by a Sudanese national, became disoriented after their GPS signal failed. To make matters worse, Shehzad’s cellphone battery was dead, leaving the pair unable to call for help. As their vehicle ran out of fuel, they were stranded in the scorching desert heat without food or water.

The two fought to survive in extreme temperatures, but both died from severe dehydration and exhaustion.

The bodies of Shehzad and his companion were discovered on Thursday, four days later, lying next to their vehicle in the sand dunes.
