SELMA, Alabama (WSFA) – Morgan Academy football player Caden Tellier, who was hospitalized with a brain injury, has died, Morgan Academy confirmed.

Morgan Academy Principal Dr. Bryan Oliver confirmed in a statement to WSFA that Caden Tellier has died:

Michael McLendon, executive director of the Alabama Independent School Association, issued a statement earlier in the day explaining that Caden Tellier suffered a severe brain injury and asked the community for support for the family.

“We ask our entire AISA family and the people of Alabama to join us in praying for peace and comfort for Caden’s family and the Morgan Academy community as they navigate this difficult time,” McLendon said.

McLendon also noted that Morgan Academy has decided to suspend all school activities this week to give the community time to come together.
