The Cardinals will look to extend their winning streak when they resume a road series against the Twins on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m.

After winning their opening game on Friday, the Cardinals have won three games in a row for the first time in two months.

Friday night’s win was the team’s first non-extra-inning victory by more than three runs since late July.

On Saturday, right-hander Sonny Gray (11-8, 3.91) will be on the mound for the Cardinals.

Gray has a 5.63 ERA since the start of July, the fifth-worst among qualified starters during that span. His 28.2% home run-to-fly ball ratio is the lowest among starters since July 1.

The Twins will counter with 28-year-old Venezuelan right-hander Pablo López (11-8, 4.47).

After four years of significantly above-average performance, López is experiencing his worst year since his first full MLB season.

Last year, López was able to shine with numerous above-average pitches. This year, only his fastball is doing well.

The Cardinals are 64-64, second in the NL Central and five games out of the final wild-card spot. St. Louis has won four of six games.

The Twins are third in the AL Central at 71-57, but are just two games out of the top spot. Minnesota has lost four of five games, but still holds the final wild-card spot in the American League.

Lance Lynn (knee strain): The veteran right-hander traveled with the team to Minnesota to throw a bullpen session on Friday afternoon and follow a starter’s five-day schedule. On Monday, he will throw a live BP session at Busch Stadium and aim for about 60 pitches. He would ideally like to reach 85 pitches in a game before returning to the rotation and active roster. Steven Matz (lower back stiffness): The left-hander will make another rehab appearance for Class AAA Memphis on Tuesday and will try to repeat his last appearance. That means he’ll aim for around 85 to 90 pitches, and if there’s a clean, calming inning where he can finish the game, he’ll do that for the Redbirds. It will be his last rehab appearance before a decision has to be made about his role and return to the majors. Updated on August 23

Michael Siani (slanting trunk): The outfielder has made progress in the batting cage and has faced faster pitching from machines. He will face Lynn in live BP on Monday and the plan is for him to begin rehab on Tuesday. Updated on August 23
