New York Red Bulls sign Tanner Rosborough and Steven Sserwadda on short-term contracts

The New York Red Bulls have signed Tanner Rosborough and Steven Sserwadda to short-term contracts ahead of their match against Charlotte FC on Saturday, August 24.

Rosborough, 16, has started nine MLS NEXT Pro games this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists. He scored his first MLS NEXT Pro goal on June 30 against Columbus Crew 2, becoming the fourth-youngest goalscorer in franchise history at 16 years, 101 days. He had a five-game goal streak that lasted from June 30 to August 4, the second-longest streak in franchise history.

Sserwadda, 22, is in his fourth season with the Red Bulls. He has made 39 career appearances for NYRB II, scoring four goals and providing one assist. This season, he has made 21 appearances and scored two goals. Sserwadda has also made three career appearances for the Red Bulls.

The midfielder has played five games for the Uganda national team, including three in the starting line-up. Sserwadda made his senior national team debut on March 25, 2023 against Tajikistan.

The players will be available for New York’s regular season game against Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The game will be played at Bank of America Stadium and will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via NewYorkRedBulls.com and the New York Red Bulls app.
