New York Yankees standout player writes baseball history in last 100 games

The New York Yankees picked up a much-needed win on Friday night, defeating the Colorado Rockies 3-0 at Yankee Stadium.

The win puts the Yankees at 76-53 on the year, while the loss drops Colorado to 47-82. With the Baltimore Orioles also winning, the Yankees remain 1.5 games ahead of the O’s in the American League East.

Carlos Rodon dominated on the mound, throwing 6.0 scoreless innings for New York. He allowed just four hits and one walk. He struck out five and went 14-8 on the year. In his second year in New York, Rodon now has a 4.16 ERA.

At bat, the Yankees were once again carried by superstar Aaron Judge. The projected American League MVP hit 1 of 4 home runs, his 49th of the season. He is on pace to hit 60-plus home runs for the second time in his career.

Judge also won the award in 2022.

The Yankees will face the Rockies again on Saturday at 2:05 p.m. ET.
