Where to find water chestnuts in the fields of Mistria

Water chestnuts are an item you can collect Fields of Mistriabut unlike the other plants found in the colorful world, these are quite difficult to recognize.

Pretty early on in the game, Juniper will task you with finding water chestnuts. She’ll want two of them and in return she’ll teach you how to cook water chestnut patties. It’ll also earn you some reputation with Mistria.

Below we explain where to find water chestnuts in Fields of Mistriaand what else you can use them for.

Where to find water chestnuts in the fields of Mistria

Water chestnuts can be found at specific spawn points in The Narrowsthe map west of Mistria. There are a few growing in the water just south of the museum. They appear as small shoots on the river bank, but if you interact with said shoots, a bunch of water chestnuts will sprout up, just waiting to be harvested. In our game, there were five spots along the river where the water chestnuts spawn and respawn.

Water Chestnuts take about four days to respawn in-game, so we recommend you save a few before selling them or using the rest, just in case you need them during this respawn period.

You can also sometimes buy them from Balor’s trading cart for 25 Tesserae a piece, but his shop seems to change randomly, so this method of getting chestnuts isn’t really reliable.

What are water chestnuts used for?

Outside of the first quest that calls for them, you can eat the water chestnuts and get three HP and stamina each, but that’s not really a good use for them. Once you unlock the mill, you can use water chestnuts to make better animal feed for your ranch needs. You can craft the chestnuts into water chestnut patties, which restore 56 HP and stamina, and trail mix, which restores 12 HP and stamina. (There are other recipes as well.)

Juniper, one of the romance candidates, especially likes to receive water chestnut patties as gifts, so it might be worth preparing them with her in mind.
