Arrest in connection with break-ins at three fast-food restaurants in Sierra Vista
Sierra Vista police have arrested a suspect in the case of a hamburger burglar who committed a series of break-ins at three fast-food restaurants on the same street on Monday.
August R. Atencio, 24, turned himself in Wednesday, two days after police asked for the public’s help in locating him, according to a Sierra Vista police news release.
The first break-in occurred at about 12:30 a.m. Monday at Carl’s Jr. on Fry Boulevard, followed by a second break-in at about 2 a.m. at the McDonald’s there and a third at about 2:40 a.m. at Wendy’s, police said.
In each of the break-ins, Atencio followed the same pattern: He entered the restaurants through the drive-thru window and stole money from the cash registers, Sierra Vista police said.
