Prince William returns to public duty after summer break; here’s everything we KNOW so far

Prince William will return to public duty after the summer with his family. On August 22, Kensington Palace announced that the Prince would make his first public appearance since July 12. The exhibition, Homelessness: Reframed, will include visits by the Prince of Wales and his entourage at the Saatchi Gallery in London on September 5. This is part of his commitment to raise awareness of homelessness, as he has done with his Homewards initiative.

The exhibition ‘Homelessness: Reframed’ opened last Wednesday 7 August and looks at the complexities of homelessness in the UK, and aims to help people from all walks of life understand those affected by homelessness. This special exhibition has been put together by the Saatchi Gallery in partnership with the Prince William’s Homewards programme and the Eleven Eleven Foundation. Launching in June 2023, the Prince William’s Homewards initiative aims to end homelessness for good.

During his visit, Prince William will meet some of the artists who have shown their work on the site. He will also speak to those people whose experiences have inspired him when painting or drawing pictures, also known as works of art. In addition, he will find time to meet the famous British photographer Rankin, who helped create this exhibition.

In addition, Prince William will meet with Creative Kids children who have taken part in Open Doors, part of the Homeless World Cup which is part of this event. These doors were created by young people from key locations where the Homewards programme is designed to prevent homelessness, which is rare and short-lived.

This upcoming visit will be Prince William’s first since July 14, when he was last seen in public. His last public duty was attending the UEFA European Football Championship final alongside his son Prince George. Summer holidays are a tradition for British monarchs, with them usually staying away from public activities to allow enough time for rest and reflection.

King Charles and Princess Kate also follow this tradition, with King Charles continuing the Queen’s tradition of holidaying at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The Princess of Wales, who announced in March that she was undergoing cancer treatment, has kept a low profile during this time. She has only made two public appearances this year and has focused on her recovery. The summer break at Balmoral is intended to give her the rest she needs.

On August 11, Prince William and Princess Kate released a video message congratulating the British national team on their success at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This was one of the couple’s rare appearances over the summer, as Prince William unexpectedly appeared with a beard in this clip. After recovering, they are preparing to resume their public appearances, so if Prince William visits the Saatchi Gallery, it is a good sign that the new season of royal engagements is beginning.
