NBCUniversal Japan has announced an anime adaptation of “A Wild Last Boss Appeared” for Anime NYC 2024

During the NBC Universal Japan Anime Industry Panel at Anime NYC 2024, the anime adaptation of Firehead and Yahoko’s A wild boss has appeared! was announced. During the announcement, the first key visual featuring “Black Winged Tyran” Lufas Maphaahl was revealed. J-Novel is publishing the light novel in English.

Firehead, the author, commented:

The story will be turned into a cartoon! That sounds so beautiful. I hoped that would happen one day, but I thought it would be in a faraway world. But now it’s not just a fantasy in my head that I can’t show anyone. Rufus and his friends will move, talk in a cartoon, and the whole thing can be shared with anyone in the real world! I’m looking forward to that moment. And it’s also thanks to all of you who have patiently supported us so that we could get this far. Thank you so much!

J-Novel describes the series as follows:

The year is 2800, and Lufas Maphaahl – the black-winged tyrant, great conqueror, and leader of the Twelve Heavenly Stars – has returned. A man awakens in the body of his MMO character 200 years after her defeat during a player-created event in the game Exgate Online. Now he is stuck in her body. But this isn’t a game, it’s real. With her reign long gone and her legacy marked by fear, Lufas must travel the world of Exgate looking for answers, possible comrades, and all the monsters her “death” unleashed upon the world…
